Room Settings

Door Tablet allows you to configure meeting spaces without the need to touch your existing Domino or Exchange environments. Only the Domino port is available at this time.

Editing meeting spaces
meeting spaces may be edited using:

  1. The Web UI (most popular)
  2. The Notes client
  3. The Door Tablet app
Please note that all settings are stored on the Door Tablet server and not on the tablet. In fact, the only data stored on the tablet is the connection information to the server. When the Door Tablet display is up, Door Tablet stores the settings brought from the server so that if the connection with the server is interrupted, Door Tablet will continue and operate in disconnected mode (display accurate schedules but cannot accept ad hoc bookings).

Editing meeting spaces/resources in the Web UI:


Click on the Rotary Wheel to edit a meeting space:

Any changes made here will be stored on the Door Tablet database held on the server. An administrator can make changes from the database and the tablet updates these changes every ten minutes.

Edit the Rooms/Resources from within the Notes client
When you make changes to a meeting space in the Notes client, the settings will be used as soon as the Door Display is engaged. If the Door Display is already engaged, changes in settings will be automatically updated on the Tablet within circa 15 minutes. You will not need to visit tablets you configured from the Notes client.

Configuring a Room/Resource
You may edit the records using the Web UI (All platforms) or using the Notes client for IBM users. You may also edit a meeting space using the tablet App itself, with some minor exceptions.

Status: to engage the display of the meeting space, the status must be changed to "Active". In the Notes client:

You can configure meeting space from the tablet itself with only one exception: Branding using CSS



The "Reservations" section enables you to allow ad-hoc reservations from the tablet itself.


Door Tablet reads meeting spaces reservations on a regular poll interval. It makes little demands on your server; you can control how often it reads the calendars. You can poll from 1 to 15 minutes.
If you use the "Screen Off" facility, you will need to turn on the tablet manually.



The polling window shows the time when the meeting space is available for reservations. You cannot reserve the meeting space outside this window. This also defines the time that people can make ad-hoc reservations on the tablet.


If check-in is disabled, the meeting space will appear to be busy even if no one is using it. This is relevant for meetings that are created outside of the tablet through a calendar appointment. A meeting space is automatically checked-in when an ad-hoc meeting is created (if check-in enabled).

Secure in/out gives you a three-digit number which you will need to give if you wish to extend a meeting or release a meeting space.

There are default neighborhoods provided. They come from the data from each meeting space, which in turn comes from the organisational calendaring and scheduling.

If you go to a meeting space and you find that it's busy, it's easy to see how many other meeting spaces in the same neighborhood are booked. You can also look at other neighborhoods and view their booking status.

You can decide whether you want to integrate this new neighbourhood with an existing neighborhood:

You can customise display at both the global level, which will affect all tablets connected to the system, and the meeting space level. There is no obligation to change the display. Door Tablet is ready to be used as is.
You can use your company colour scheme, logo, etc. In some parts of the display, you also have the option to use your own font.
You can only do this from the database. Direct reference to styles can only be edited in the Client database where you can specify the full path in both the tablet and the Client.

Windows Store App
If you use the Door Tablet Windows Store App please note:
  1. Any reference to images must be absolute to the Door Tablet server. The means that your reference to images would look like so: "background-image: url(http://internal-dt-server.com/branding/logo.png);"
  2. Fonts cannot be added as described here but rather be embedded in the application, by us. The service is chargeable
