Door Tablet V4.5

Door Tablet Room Booking and scheduling.

V4.5 was released released yesterday 7 July 2014.  The Tablet native apps will be ready to download at different times: the Google Play app is ready now, the Apple App Store app will be available in around a week, once approved by Apple.

Please note the the server must be upgraded before the tablets.  For upgrade notes see here.


New features

1. API - allows you to update Door Tablet reservations from any system, view resources, schedules and more.  All this in JASONP format which makes it easy to create internal mobile Apps.  Learn about the API
2. New customization options.  There are no no limits to making the display in your house style.  Use your own words for resources, month and day names, change the graphics for traffic lights or the resource icons.  And when it comes to Welcome and Schedule displays, we provide a new layer for adding your mark, anywhere on the display.  Read more about it here
3. For those who like to show full dates, there are new Date display options
4. Most core server functions have been migrated to work as a serverlet, vastly improving performance
5. You can now add Neighborhoods Settings - this will become more apparent when we publish the next release supporting Room and Desks clusters
6. For each resource you can now add a floor plan (in short we call it Map), and a photo of the resource (we call is Photo, obviously).  You can read about the Map and Photo feature here
7. When creating an ad-hoc meeting with a Domino server there is no longer a 5 seconds delay until the booking shows.
8. Added a proxy feature when using a Domino server (this has always been available in Exchange).  This allows a Door Tablet server to connect with a remote Domino server that does not run HTTP
9. Improved the Web UI calendar interface

Downloads
The following are now available...

1. Door Tablet for IBM Domino - this is a self installing package for those running on the IBM server from V8.5.2 upwards (the software tested on the latest V9, too).  Available for Windows 32/64 bit and must be installed on the same machine where the resource reservations database resides.  Should you need to run on Linux or Unix platforms please contact us for deliveries.  See installation instructions here
2. Door Tablet for Microsoft Exchange 2007 onwards and Office 365 - this is a self installing package for those running the Microsoft Exchange server with the latest service packs.  Install the software on any machine, including the same machine where Exchange is installed.  Please follow closely the required steps before starting to use Door Tablet with Microsoft Exchange, and of course see the installation instructions here

Trying Door Tablet

1. You can try Door Tablet now - even without downloading anything.  Open the site home page and half way through click on the iPad like image.  Use your existing credentials to authenticate
2. Use the PC interface on your own installation.  See here
