HOW IT WORKS

LibCal and Door Tablet, Connected

Door Tablet connects to Springshare LibCal through its API, bringing existing space reservations to digital displays and other supported Door Tablet interfaces. Students and staff can continue reserving spaces through LibCal while gaining additional ways to check availability and interact with bookable facilities on site.

ACCESS CONTROL

Alongside LibCal scheduling, Door Tablet can integrate with compatible access control systems to connect space reservations with physical entry permissions.

With suitable electronic locks and card readers, authorised students and staff can use their access cards to enter secured facilities during permitted periods. Access remains restricted to individuals with the appropriate permissions.

Access control is an additional Door Tablet integration and requires compatible hardware and configuration. The relationship between reservations and access permissions depends on the selected access control system.

GETTING STARTED

Connect Door Tablet to LibCal

Configuration begins with LibCal API access and continues through Door Tablet's central administration interface.

Enable LibCal API Access

In LibCal administration, use the Vendor Access API option to generate the Client ID and Client Secret required for the integration.

Configure the Connection

Select Springshare LibCal in the Door Tablet System Profile, enter the required credentials and test connectivity.

Prepare Educational Spaces

Review your LibCal locations, zones, categories and reservation rules. Enable compatible hourly booking settings for study spaces where on-site reservations are required.

Activate Door Tablet Spaces

Configure the relevant library rooms and educational facilities in Door Tablet, assign displays and verify availability and permitted booking interactions.
