Door Tablet V7.4

February 4, 2016

We are pleased to announce the release of Door Tablet 7.4.  We made improvements to both the Apps and Server functionality, with mostly new stuff... and of course new hardware offering.

New Hardware

We are now offering three new packages using Samsung Electronic devices, including SSSP.  Packages for Apple fans, covering iPad Mini, iPad Air and iPad Pro will be added in the next few weeks.

These new packages are the early fruits of our collaboration with our hardware partner, Compulock Inc.

The new range is showing here, and new hardware would be added in the same area.

Updated Quotation Tool

We enhanced the tool to cater for variable packages - try it, it's fast and provides clear information.  More over it offers a snappy way to compare the offerings.  The tool continues to be available from your account dashboard.  Click here.

Software Update - App

We updated the App in order to support larger enterprises, our new hardware offering and provide new capabilities.

For Android platforms
The app for Android has specific enhancements to allow control over hard buttons and better control over soft buttons for rooted devices.  This allows the app to run on solutions where hard buttons are exposed to user but while the Door Tablet app is in view those buttons are deactivated.  This appears to work on the latest crop of Samsung Galaxy Tab tablets running Android 4.4.1 and 5.

All other platforms
We added adaptation for smaller tables such as the Nvidia SHIELD 8" device.  The feature is provided exclusively in CSS and is available to download from here.

We have improved performance when displaying room and neighborhood lists.  This is particularly useful when you have more than 200 rooms and don't fancy a loading wait while navigating the system.

Software Update - System Management

  1. Added control over system indexing.  Using this facility forces the system to immediately index your data and make it easy to search and navigate the system.
  2. The Web UI has a new feature allowing you to easily associate rooms to neighborhood of your choice.  The same facility allows you to remove selected rooms from selected neighborhoods.
  3. Welcome Displays may now be configured on a neighborhood basis and not exclusively on a global basis.  This allows you to configure the displays in a different way for each building you place them.
  4. Integration with Digital Signage system allowing the incorporation of our non-interactive Door Tablet wayfinding displays, on a neighborhood basis.  The Digital Signage system need to support the very latest Web-Kit and active content.
