New support for Windows Tablets Anonymousprnt::Y

Door Tablet V7.0

Windows Store App

We are pleased to announce the availability of our new native Door Tablet client for Windows 8.1 and 10.  The new client joins our existing clients for iOS and Android.  The three clients offer identical functionality and we will continue to release updates for the three platforms simultaneously.

We are aware of issues with the Windows 10 Store application but you should be ablet to get the application on tablets. If anyone using Door Tablet for Windows experiences any difficulties while Microsoft sorts out any early teething problems, please contact us if your patience wears thin!

Why add a new client

Microsoft has had a rough time with its mobile phones and tablets and today it has a mere 3% of the market.  Of course it might be a reason to ignore the platform but we disagree.  We believe that with the arrival of Windows 10 Microsoft fortunes will improve and dramatically so.  Furthermore, for the purpose of operating a single use application such as Door Tablet, some of the Microsoft Windows tablets we looked at provide great value for money.

We wanted to offer a client that you can run on a PC, instead of using a browser, hence allowing better control and enhanced user experience.  By the way, we will continue to provide Door Tablet as a browser application which is invaluable when branding tablets to your corporate brand.

Hardware

There are already some good Microsoft Windows tablets you can use today.  These are solid tablet, which you can pay around $180 to $200 each.  Unlike other tablets, these tablets have separate USB and power supply socket, making it easy, and low cost, to add PoE functionality.  Getting a Windows tablet on wired networking is a breeze - a true plug and play.  Splitting PoE feed to power and networking also easy.

Enclosures

Unlike our existing offering, where we supply enclosures for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3/4, Windows tablets may vary in size.  We found that our Windows 8.1 tablet hasan identical screen to that of the Galaxy but is 14mm wider.  We are currently looking for adequate enclosures.

Mobile Device Management

If you wonder how you could centrally manage Windows Tablets then no worries... it appears that most MDM software vendors fully support the platform.

How to get the new App

As with the Apple and Google application stores, the Windows Store hosts Door Tablet and all its future updates. In due course you will be able to search and find Door Tablet but for now just click on the store logo.  Please remember that the application requires Windows 8.1 or Windows 10.
