We are pleased to announce the availability of the latest version of the Door Tablet software. The two main elements of this release are Floor Plan and NFC in Door Tablet AIO.
Floor Plans
The new Floor Plan display is aimed at organisations wishing to present resources using a floor plan image. The software allows you to upload an image (your floor plan), and allows you to graphically link the relevant resources to it.
The colours of these resources will change as their status changes, allowing users to easily locate free spaces. It is of course possible to perform all the functions you would expect from a single-room display, provided the display hardware is interactive, like the SSSP 22" hardware.
It is very easy to link resources to image shapes using the interactive, browser-based tool we provide.

Near Field Communication - NFC
The Door Tablet AIO hardware has NFC electronics which we now use to offer exciting new capabilities. NFC allows organisations to provide users with easy means of secure identification. Once cards, or tags, have been circulated to employees, they are associated with their IDs on the Door Tablet server. A user ID includes a name, email and phone number.
 A user with an enabled NFC card is now able to perform a wide range of functions while associating these activities with their ID.
It is now instantly easy to associate an action, such as reservation, with a person. And, it also allows organisations to track and monitor user activity.
NFC functionality is now enabled for reservations, extensions, terminations, check-in, assistance requests and admin login and logout. Just click on the function you require and scan your NFC tag: done.
Do you have to use NFC? Of course not. Do we think it's a good idea? Yes we do, but we are also aware that this requires the purchase of Door Tablet AIO.

Door Tablet AIO progress
The adoption of the new hardware has been enthusiastic. Prospects like the idea of an easy-to-deploy solution that provides unique features and low cost of purchase and ownership. Other hardware options are still available of course for those who do not need all the features of Door Tablet AIO or simply want to spend less.
We believe that since the release of NFC features, Door Tablet is not only the most versatile solution in the market but also offers the best value.
Firmware update
We now support centralised firmware update for Door Tablet AIO. This will allow you to test new firmware manually on a lab device, and once you are satisfied with the update, you can roll out the new firmware to all installed devices, remotely. Please note that the latest firmware update also fixes a display issue with Floor Plans.
Other hardware
- We continue to offer enclosures and PoE electronics for those that prefer these components.
- For NFC users we will start offering NFC cards and tags, including a pre-registration service. This will allow companies to provide us with employee lists and we will, in turn, return your pre-allocated NFC cards with an import facility to Door Tablet.
Price changes
Our prices will change on Monday August 1st and generally move up. Door Tablet AIO prices will rise in line with market expectation. We are also planning to announce new prices for Door Tablet AIO Extended Warranty. In addition to the single year as standard, the extended warranty options are for one further year or for two further years. Fixes and improvements
In our continuing determination to monitor performance, iron out bugs and enhance our service, we have effected a few notable changes:
- Slide Shows from disk now work properly
- You can create a slide show header before you create slides
- We added two new languages, Italian and Chinese, and reviewed existing ones
- We improved the way licences are read from the server
