Small/Large Tablets

Door Tablet was designed with the popular 9.7" to 10.1" sizes. When using smaller tablets, such as the Nvidia SHIELD 8" tablet, text will appear too large and while showing a meeting text may overflow over other text. All of this is easy to resolve.

The following images show the Nvidia SHIELD K1 - 8" (using Nvidia css styling).

And now with a meeting:

Adapting your display to smaller tablets
Depending on the resolution of your choice of tablets, adjustment may need to be made if text appears too large or too small. Since most users opt for tablets of around 10" in size, you may need to reduce the size of some objects and font sizes if your tablets are smaller. The process is simple and exclusively done with CSS.

The following CSS lists the required changes which affect sizes only. These change are applicable to an 8" display of DPI used on the Nvidia SHIELD:

/* fix buttons at the bottom of the display */
.doorBut img { margin: 6px; margin-top: 8px; }
.doorBut span { margin-top: 8px; margin-right: 10px; font-size: 20px; }

/* gives the meeting time in the schedule a bit more room */
.meetingTime { width: 40%; }

/* reduces font size for the time display */
#curHour, #curMin { font-size: 86px; }

#curSec { font-size: 54px; }

/* reduces size of meeting subject display */
#meetingSubject { font-size: 70px; line-height: 70px; max-height: 80px; }

/* reduces the size the list of niebourhoods popup */
#nbrSelector .ui-btn, #roomSelector .ui-btn { height: 18px; font-size: 14px; }

/* hides facility icons altogether */
#roomFacil { height: 0; }

/* adjusts the height of the roomName text span */
#roomName span { margin-top: 8px; }

#roomName span, #nbrName span, #schedName span, #airportName span{ font-size: 86px; }

/* the times box is now smaller so we reduce its height */
#times { height: 170px; }

/* reduce the size of the upcoming text */
#upcoming { font-size: 32px; }

To implement the above CSS you have few options, applying to system, meeting spaces and neighbourhood level:

  1. Create a CSS file and reference it, at a level of your choice
  2. Drop the CSS in the Styles field and use in-line styles, at a level of your choice
