Unix or Linux Install

Installing the Door Tablet server components on IBM Domino for Linux/UNIX

Note: To access Door Tablet for Linux contact our sales team

When you access the downloads area on door-tablet.com you will notice that an installer is not available for either Linux or UNIX. If you run on these platforms follow the steps below to get Door Tablet working on these OSs:

  1. Download the patch installer for Domino (40mb circa)
  2. Run it locally on your Windows PC - the installer will detach two templates and some other files, including the help database
  3. Use the Notes client to create a database for each of the two templates in a directory on the Domino server called "doortablet" (in the Domino server data directory). The file names must be the same as the template names (just .nsf of course)
  4. Move the help database to the same "doortablet" folder on the Domino server
  5. Sign the new database you have just created, as well as the help database
  6. Update the databases ACL and give yourself the [admin] role. See here Database 'Door Tablet HELP', View 'Help Documents', Document 'IBM Domino Installer'

About the server
  1. The server where you install Door Tablet does not need to be the Resources Reservations server
  2. The server will need to have the HTTP protocol enabled
  3. You can manage the system using the Notes client (open doors.nsf), but it is preferable to use the Web UI

Continue configuration
  1. You can now configure the application on your Linux/UNIX server using the Notes client. See here for details Database 'Door Tablet HELP', View 'Help Documents', Document 'System Setup in Domino'
  2. We recommend that you use the Web UI. See here Database 'Door Tablet HELP', View 'Help Documents', Document 'Web UI'

Note: As the Door Tablet add-in does not run on a Linux/UNIX server the Google Analytics feed is not available at this time.

You are now ready to Synchronise Door Tablet with your directory. See Database 'dt.HELP', View 'Help Documents', Document 'Synchronise Rooms with Directory'
