Lost connections

Some IAdea devices lose server connections upon restart. This may be due to the version of WebView installed, which is responsible for handling "localStorage".

To overcome this issue, if you are using Door Tablet CONNECT, your connection information is saved on CONNECT for the device Serial Number. Upon start up, if the Door Tablet app detects that localStorage is empty, the device retrieves the data from the CONNECT server and continues the launch of the display. This process is automatic and requires no intervention of any kind.

Please note that this feature is available for CONNECT installations only, and is available on the the App from version 10.50.3.

To activate the feature follow this process:

  1. Open the System Profile
  2. Check the box "Capture server connections" - see image below
  3. Add an IP address with wild cards to protect your installation - please note that without the use of IP Validation the feature will not work
  4. Install the latest version of the Door Tablet APK. Use V10.50.3 or above
  5. On your devices start the application and create a connection to your instance of Door Tablet CONNECT, as normal.
  6. Select the room you wish to open, and open it.
Done.

Upon device restart, if the data in localStorage is no longer there, the app will detect that and attempt to re-instate localStorage by fetching it from Door Tablet CONNECT. The app will continue and open your room automatically.
