We will look at the components of the Door Tablet External LED System We will show where to install the necessary software We will look at the required settings configurations Finally, we will test the LED functionality The Door Tablet External LED System allows you to add visual status indicators to your meeting rooms and spaces The electronics may be connected to LED strips or LED walls These can be mounted outside rooms to provide real-time information about room status, or occupancy These LED systems provide a clear visual indicator of room status whether a space is occupied, available, or simply active making it easy for everyone to see at a glance Before we look at the configuration steps there are some key technical specifications to be aware of Supports LEDs with up to 1536 RGBW LEDs Compatible with a range of LED drivers Requires both signal and power connections Uses the Door Tablet device hub with network connectivity Now, let’s begin the process Navigate to door-tablet.com Log into your account and go to the Downloads section Then, download the device hub configuration package for Windows Now, install both installers included in the package Go ahead and launch the viewer application – it will allow you to configure the hub Next, connect the USB-C cable from your PC to the device hub electronics In the viewer, click "Connect" and ensure localhost is selected Navigate to the 'Master Brick' tab Ensure that the IP address is static IP rather than DHCP Select an appropriate static IP address for your network Save the Ethernet configuration and click 'Reset' Disconnect the USB-c cable and connect the network cable to the device hub Reconnect to the device using the new static IP address Do so by clicking on the 'Setup' tab and changing the host from localhost to the Static IP address you have just setup Now click 'Connect' In the viewer continue and navigate to the 'LED Strip Bricklet' tab Identify and note the LED strip's Unique ID (UID) Write the UID and IP address on the box for future reference Open the Door Tablet Web UI Select the room where you'll install the LED system, and pair it with this kit Navigate to the second tab that begins with Times and Display Then inside this tab scroll down to Sensors/External LED Enter the device hub IP address and LED UID, which you have noted before Submit the room record Launch the app in the browser and ensure that its running in HTTP mode and not HTTPS Login to the server when you see the room list, click on the button Local Settings Type the IP address and UID from earlier on Select the appropriate LED driver that matches your LEDs and the number of LEDs you wish to drive We can now use the app to test LED functionality and verify that the LED strip responds to colour changes Once you click on the test button the colours will alternate between all the colours we use in Door Tablet Green , Red, Amber, Blue, White and blank. 27.
