INTEGRATIONS
CalDAV
Door Tablet integrates with compatible CalDAV calendar servers, connecting existing room calendars with meeting room displays, wayfinders, ePaper displays and booking functionality.
Bring your CalDav-based scheduling into the workplace with Microsoft Teams integration where supported, whether your calendars are hosted in the cloud or on-premise.

HOW IT WORKS
Connecting Door Tablet to CalDAV
Door Tablet connects to your CalDAV server using an authorised account with access to the required room calendars. Calendar events can be displayed on meeting room tablets, while supported booking operations allow employees to reserve and manage rooms directly from the workplace.
Your CalDAV endpoint may be cloud-hosted or self-hosted. The Door Tablet server must be able to reach the endpoint, and supported booking functions depend on your calendar provider and permissions.
CALDAV PLATFORMS
Using a CalDAV-Based Calendar Platform?
CalDAV provides a standards-based approach to calendar access and is used across a range of open-source, enterprise and independently managed calendar environments. If your organisation uses one of these platforms, Door Tablet's CalDAV integration could offer a way to extend your room calendars into the workplace.
Platform compatibility: The platforms above are examples of CalDAV-related calendaring environments, not a list of individually certified Door Tablet integrations. Complete room discovery, booking and event management depend on provider capabilities, calendar configuration and successful end-to-end testing.
Using LaSuite, Nextcloud, BlueMind, openDesk, Open-Xchange or another CalDAV-based calendar system? Tell us about your environment and let's explore the integration possibilities.

OPEN CALENDAR STANDARDS
Supporting Different Scheduling Environments
Organisations are increasingly evaluating open-source, self-hosted and independently managed calendar platforms as part of their wider workplace technology strategy.
CalDAV offers a standards-based connection method that can help organisations integrate compatible calendar environments with workplace technology.
Door Tablet extends this approach into the physical workplace by displaying room schedules and supporting calendar booking operations where available.
This is relevant for organisations considering alternatives to proprietary calendar platforms, including those with specific hosting or data governance requirements.
Your Calendar. Your Infrastructure. Door Tablet.
Keep your calendar environment
Use accessible calendars from a compatible CalDAV server.
Connect meeting room displays
Bring room schedules and availability information to Door Tablet devices.
Manage supported room bookings
Enable booking functions where your calendar system supports them.
CALDAV CONFIGURATION
Connect CalDAV Through the Door Tablet Web UI
From Door Tablet Server version 10.8, administrators can select CalDAV as the scheduling technology in the System Profile. Enter the CalDAV URL and account credentials, check the connection and discover the accessible calendars.
The CalDAV connection is configured under Setup > System Profile. After saving the connection settings, synchronise calendars from room management and activate the rooms you want to use.
GETTING STARTED
How to Connect Door Tablet to CalDAV
Connecting Door Tablet to CalDAV involves preparing your calendar access, configuring the server connection and synchronising the room calendars you want to use.
Prepare CalDAV Access
Obtain your provider's CalDAV URL, account credentials and room calendar permissions. Confirm that the endpoint is reachable from the Door Tablet server.
Configure Door Tablet
Open Setup > System Profile, select CalDAV, enter the connection details and check the calendars found. Save the System Profile before synchronising.
Synchronise and Test
Synchronise room calendars, review the discovered rooms and activate them. Verify schedules and test booking functions against your source calendar.
INTEGRATION REQUIREMENTS
Planning Your CalDAV Deployment
CalDAV is an open protocol, but providers can differ in the calendar and resource-management features they expose. Confirm the following requirements when planning your integration.
Calendar Permissions
The CalDAV account must have access to the room calendars. Reading schedules requires read access; creating, changing and cancelling bookings also requires write access.
Network Connectivity
The endpoint must be reachable from the Door Tablet server. Check the required network route, VPN, firewall configuration and trusted HTTPS certificates.
Event Handling
Supported individual bookings can be changed or cancelled from tablets. All-day events and recurring instances are read-only and should be managed in the source calendar.
Platform-Specific Functionality
Some platforms use native APIs for room and resource management rather than exposing those functions through CalDAV. Room integration must be evaluated for each environment.
OPTIONAL MICROSOFT TEAMS INTEGRATION
Add Microsoft Teams Meetings to CalDAV Bookings
Door Tablet's separate Microsoft Teams integration can add a Teams meeting link to eligible room bookings made from a tablet using CalDAV.
Once a supported CalDAV booking has been confirmed, Door Tablet can create a Teams meeting through a nominated Microsoft 365 organiser account. The join link can then be made available through the tablet and emailed to the identified booker using the Door Tablet server's mail system.
This allows organisations using CalDAV for room scheduling to explore Microsoft Teams meeting functionality without changing their underlying calendar provider.
Development status: Teams meeting creation and supported tablet extensions are implemented, but automatic Teams cancellation when a CalDAV booking ends, and reconciliation of changes made directly in the source calendar, are not yet complete.

How Teams Works with CalDAV
Identify the booker
The tablet user must authenticate with PIN or RFID and have a valid email address in their Door Tablet user record.
Create the Teams meeting
A nominated, authorised Microsoft 365 account creates the Teams meeting after the room booking succeeds.
Share the join link
Door Tablet stores the Teams join link for its tablet joining and QR workflow and queues an email to the identified booker.
Extend supported bookings
A confirmed tablet extension can update the linked Teams meeting end time while keeping the same join link.
