Creating Neighbourhoods In this video We will show how to group resources together into a neighbourhood This includes how to make a new neighbourhood and how to add resources to it Finally, we will show how to create a neighbour record to adjust the settings of a neighbourhood In Door Tablet a neighbourhood is the term we use for a group of workspaces For every resource we have the built in neighbourhood that it belongs to Let’s go to our spaces The location of a resource is the name of the primary neighbourhood Let’s open this space and have a look at it We can see this space has a location of Office 365 In the description we also explain that this is the prime neighbourhood By default, every resource would have a location and that will constitute its prime neighbourhood However, we may want to create additional neighbourhoods that contain resources To do this we scroll down and click on the tab where we see ‘Neighbourhoods’ Here we can use an existing neighbourhood or type in a new one Let’s call our neighbourhood ‘myPlace’ Below we can see ‘Nearby list’ This is a way to control what neighbourhoods can be seen on the Nearby view from this display Let’s save this record So far, we can’t see the impact of creating the ‘myPlace’ neighbourhood Let’s pick up some other spaces and add them to ‘myPlace’ We go back to the list of spaces We do not need to open each of the spaces individually We can put a checkbox next to each space and then go to the bottom of the screen Click on ‘Neighbourhood’ and the system shows that we have selected 4 records Then we type the name of our neighbourhood and click assign So that added these resources to the neighbourhood ‘myPlace’ We can check this by going to one of the space records and we can see ‘myPlace’ listed as a neighbourhood this space is a member of In Door Tablet you can use desks and rooms in the same system especially if you are using the Door Tablet ePaper system In this case we can also add desks to the same neighbourhood We go to the directory and expand one of the listings here We select the desks we want to add to the neighbourhood Click on ‘Neighbourhood' again and type ‘myPlace’ If we go to the area in the navigator that says 'Neighbourhoods' and look for 'myPlace' we can see all the members of this neighbourhood Now if we want to use this neighbourhood as a wayfinding display we also need to create a NBR record Without creating one we will not be able to assign characteristics to that neighbourhood Click on 'NBR' and a new record opens up We now select the neighbourhood, 'myPlace' and we can then make various settings that affect this group of spaces Thank you for watching
